hi, i'm dayna!

When I was 8 years old I became a magazine editor.

Of course, I was self-employed, my only readers were my two sisters, and the closest thing I had to an Adobe application was Elmer's glue and construction paper. Still, these tiny zines made me realize that I have always been here to make art.

As a toddler, I would love to greet and engage with strangers, yelling, "Hi lady! Hi man! Hi people!" from my stroller. That is still who I am and what I do. I love people, and the love that I cannot contain in my body I pour into my work. As a Black, Bahamian woman, I know that stories like my own are often under or misrepresented. Because of this, I understand the importance of not only including, but highlighting diversity and ensuring that every body of work celebrates both what makes us unique and the same.

My love for people is a celebration of the different backgrounds, experiences, and stories that make each individual an individual. In every medium, I am committed to creating work celebrates the human experience, good and bad.
